Trim Extraction System for Corrugated Board Production Lines
During corrugated board production, continuous strips of edge-trim waste are generated during the trimming process. As this waste is produced continuously in long strips, a conveying solution consisting of a trim blower, pneumatic conveying ductwork, and an air/material separator is required.
The system operates as follows:
- The rotating trim blower generates the airflow required for pneumatic conveying.
- High-strength alloy blades built into the trim blower cut and shred the continuous edge-trim waste discharged from the corrugator’s slitter.
- The shredded paper waste is conveyed through the ductwork to the air/material separator. After being separated from the airflow, it falls into a fully automatic baler for compression and baling.
As the trim blower produces relatively high noise levels, a fan silencer is installed at its outlet to reduce operating noise. In addition, the exhaust air from the air/material separator contains a large amount of paper dust. A pulse-jet bag filter is therefore typically connected to the air outlet to substantially reduce particulate emissions, including fine particulate matter, and help the system comply with applicable local requirements.
